The New Horizons Orchestra is for adults at a beginning or intermediate level. Anyone can join!
Highly skilled and qualified music instructors to coach the sections of the New Horizons Orchestra, provide group lessons, and are available for private instruction as well.
For the first hour of each meeting, the strings, woodwinds, harp, brass, and percussion sections study in separate areas of the Music Center. It is during this group lesson that you will learn how to play your instrument. Beginners may spend the first sessions exclusively in the group lesson. In the groups you will also learn about music and how to read it, along with a little music theory.
After the first few weeks, the entire Orchestra will meet for the second hour to play as an ensemble. We provide the music for the whole orchestra, but you will be asked to obtain a method/study book or two for your group lessons.
The group meets Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
