Honorary Chairman of the Board

Thomas Hampson, Baritone

 

World-renowned baritone Thomas Hampson honed his remarkable vocal talent at the Holy Names Music Center under the tutelage of Sr. Marietta Coyle. Raised in Spokane, Washington, Hampson’s singing career spans operas, musicals, oratorios, and recitals, showcasing his unique versatility and unmatched ability. With more than 170 albums to his credit, his discography includes GRAMMY-winning works and acclaimed performances in over 80 operatic roles.

The 2022/2023 season finds Hampson gracing concert stages worldwide, including performances with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and several engagements in the esteemed Mahler Festival Leipzig. His chamber music projects and recital performances continue to amaze audiences from Amsterdam to Stuttgart.

Hampson’s passion for sharing his knowledge extends to his roles as honorary professor of Philosophy at the University of Heidelberg and honorary member of London’s Royal Academy of Music. As the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Lied Academy Heidelberg, he works tirelessly to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding through song.

As an alumnus and Honorary Chairman of the Board at Holy Names Music Center, Thomas Hampson exemplifies the exceptional talent and dedication our institution nurtures.
