REGISTRATION FEES

A non-refundable registration fee is due with the first lesson payment each year:

  • $45 for the first student.
  • $35 for each additional student and returning members.

Returning members are defined as students with a gap of one (1) or more months between enrollment.

2025-2026 TUITION RATE

30 min $138 per month ($37.30 per lesson)
45 min $192 per month ($51.89 per lesson)
60 min $254 per month ($68.65 per lesson)

Full-Year Monthly Tuition Membership

Membership Includes:

  • Regular weekly lesson time with your teacher (excluding holidays, as per the HNMC calendar).
  • Five (5) recital performance opportunities at no additional cost (October, December, February, April, and June).
  • Enrollment in the Full-Year Tuition Membership is for the entire school calendar year regardless of the start date.

Tuition Payment Details

Monthly Tuition:

  • Tuition is due in advance by the 1st of each month. Payments made after the 10th are considered late and will incur a $25 late fee.
  • Invoices are sent at the start of each month for your convenience.

Pro-Rated Tuition Plan:

  • Tuition is evenly divided across 10 months (September to June) to cover 37 weeks of instruction.
  • Late-start students will have their first month’s payment adjusted based on the number of lessons remaining.
  • Lessons on holidays are excluded from tuition charges (see the HNMC Calendar).

Payment Discounts:

  • Early Bird Discount: Pay the full year’s tuition by July 31st and receive a 5% discount.
  • Enrollment Discount: Pay in full at the time of enrollment for a 3% discount.
  • Family Discount: Additional students in the same family receive a $5 discount.

Payment Methods:

  • Preferred Method: Monthly Auto Pay offers secure and seamless transactions, processing payments on the 1st of each month via debit card, ACH (no surcharges) or credit card (subject to a 3% surcharge),
  • Other accepted methods: Check (payable to HNMC) or cash (exact change only).

Missed Lessons

Student Absences:

  • Missed lessons are deemed unexcused and forfeited unless canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice via the Opus1.io portal.
  • Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are offered solely based on teacher availability.
  • Remote lessons may be offered as an alternative, subject to teacher discretion.

Make-Up Lesson Credits:

  • Issued for cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • Maximum of two (2) credits pending at any time.
  • Credits expire 14 days after membership ends.

Teacher Absences:

  • If a teacher cancels, the lesson will be rescheduled. If a suitable time cannot be found by the end of the academic year, a credit will be issued.

Substitution Policy:

  1. Students may request a change of instrument with 14 days’ written notice before the start of the month.
  2. Substitute teachers may be arranged in cases where the primary teacher is unavailable.
  3. Cancellation policies apply to substitute teachers.
  4. If the primary teacher becomes permanently unavailable, HNMC will assign a new teacher with a similar teaching style or offer the opportunity to choose a new teacher.

Summer Hold Policy (June, July, August):

  1. Memberships can be placed on hold for up to two (2) months with 14 days’ written noticebefore the 1st of the hold month.
  2. Lesson times and teacher assignments are guaranteed only if tuition is pre-paid for the month of return.
  3. Individual lessons may still be purchased during the hold period.

Details:

  • All variable lessons must be booked for the next month at least one week before the start of the month. This ensures that teachers have a clear and consistent schedule for the upcoming month.

Variable Pre-Paid Lessons:

  • Available in packs of 4, 9, or 18 lessons.
  • Payment is required upfront before lessons can be scheduled.
  • All pre-paid lessons must be used within the school calendar year.

Booking and Service Credits:

  • Service credits are added to your profile upon purchase and can be used to book lessons based on teacher availability.
  • Lessons are scheduled in advance, subject to teacher availability, and must adhere to the monthly pre-booking requirement.

This system helps maintain clarity and structure for the office, students and teachers, ensuring a smooth scheduling process and an optimal learning experience.

Holidays:

Refer to the HNMC School Calendar for holiday dates. Lessons are not held on holidays, and no tuition charges apply for those weeks.

Instrument Rental:

  • Instruments are available for rent to HNMC students:
    • Violins & Guitars: $25 + tax per month.
    • Cellos: $30 + tax per month.
  • Rental agreements include basic maintenance but do not cover damage or loss. Repair or replacement costs are the renter’s responsibility.

Photo/Video Release:

  • Unless a written request is submitted, HNMC reserves the right to use photos and videos of students for promotional materials (e.g., brochures, websites, advertisements). HNMC retains copyright for these materials.

Discontinuation Policy

Full-Year Tuition Membership:

  • Remaining tuition is due upon early withdrawal, as your spot is reserved for the year at the lower rate.
  • Discontinuation requires written notice to the office.
  • In extraordinary circumstances, partial deductions may be considered at HNMC’s discretion.

Variable Pre-Paid Lessons:

Two weeks’ written notice is required for discontinuation.
