Financial Aid/Scholarships

HNMC’s mission is to provide high quality instruction and performance opportunities for all to nurture a lifelong passion for the arts. We live our mission in part by providing need based aid to families who cannot otherwise afford musical instruction. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Students wanting to start in the beginning of the next Instructional Year (Sept) should turn in their application by June 30th to be considered in the first review.

Applications must be complete to be considered! 

Financial Aid is Tuition Assistance = Discounted lessons based on your ability to pay.
To apply for Financial Aid please complete & submit the following to the music center office:

  • The first two pages of your most recently completed 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ Federal Income Tax form*, plus any other applicable documents to show proof of all income sources.*Please white out SSN’s and account routing #’s on your income documents. 

Please note: Students will need an instrument to practice on at home. Make sure to complete all sections of the application. Scholarships are based on 30 minute weekly instruction and students are required to contribute in part toward the cost of tuition. Please reference our 30 min tuition rates as your figure out the portion of monthly tuition you can afford, and be sure to provide enough details about your circumstances and why learning music is important to you to better aid our Scholarship Committee in their decision.

The majority of our scholarships/financial aid is funded by generous donations. Donations help give students the gift of music and are greatly appreciated!
