Gabriel Soileau has a background in a wide range of styles on both piano and double bass ranging from classical to jazz, folk and experimental music. He studied composition at Columbia University and Contemporary Improvisation at New England Conservatory and has over 12 years of experience playing piano and bass throughout the U.S. He is also active in the Balkan music community and has interviewed musicians in Bulgaria on a Fulbright grant. In addition to covering the basics on the instrument, he will also encourage his students to try out new ideas by learning through improvisation.
