The flute is an aerophone or reedless wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening. It has a beautiful mellow tone and is a lead instrument, often carrying the melody. The piccolo is a half-size flute, and the sound it produces is an octave higher than written. A wise person once said: “Life is like a flute. It may have many holes and emptiness but if you work on it carefully, it can play magical melodies.”
